Well not really home sick just ready to go home. It has truly been a waste of my time coming down here. I expected to be empowered but instead all we have done is eat and sit aroun nd with lots of "dead time." I'm sitting here laying on the bed in a dorm room on the campus of Texas Southern University, and I am constantly repeating the same cycle over and over ( Check my Yahoo, Check my AOL, and finally check my MySpace which is currently not working)<br /><br />Altough the leadersip conference has been a let down, the high points have been meeting Dr. Cornell West, Tavis Smiley and Hill Harper. Out of the three Harper had the biggest impact on me. He spoke as if we were all brothers and didn't come down on anyone but pointed out what we need to do as young black males to mae it in life. He was excied when I asked him if he'd come and speak at church and was just an all around down to earth person.<br /><br />But only 1 1/2 more days here, the back to sunny southern cali. Dorthy was correct in the wizzard of oz "There is no place like home." But the real issue at hand is this emotional battle that is tryung ti consume my mind. It's like i'm stuck and don't know wat to do. I thought I wanted things one way but in the process found out that I wanted them the total oppisite.
